Montreal, March 17th 2020 – Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Doctors of the World Canada will temporarily suspend its services in Montreal from March 17 to March 23 inclusive. This decision has been taken in order to reorganize services for a future reopening adapted to the context of the current health emergency and in accordance with the public health guidelines.
For everyone’s protection and health
Our priority it to assess the situation and implement safe and preventive measures to ensure the protection of our staff, the people who use our services, as well as our volunteers and partners. Doctors of the World are actively assessing how best to bridge the gap with public health in order to better reach the populations we serve during this outbreak and to support the health system personnel who are working around the clock to combat this pandemic.
We recognize that this situation is challenging and rapidly evolving. Doctors of the World is taking proactive steps to help reduce the spread of the virus. We commend the remarkable work of healthcare personnel throughout Canada and worldwide. We reiterate that it is essential for everyone to follow preventive public health measures in order to protect the health of the population as a whole, and particularly people in vulnerable situations.
