COVID-19: IMMIGRATION STATUS AND ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE

⇒ INFORMACIÓN EN ESPAÑOL

The Table de concertation des organismes au service des personnes réfugiées et immigrantes (TCRI) and Doctors of the World Canada have joined forces to offer an information document on COVID-19 for migrants residing in Quebec.

The Government of Quebec gives access to designated medical clinics dedicated to the diagnosis of COVID-19 to all, regardless of your access to a medical insurance or your immigration status.

REMINDER – main symptoms of COVID-19:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Difficulty breathing

The symptoms can be mild (similar to a cold) or more severe (similar to those associated with pneumonia and respiratory or kidney failure).

To access the designated clinics, please refer to the instructions in the box at the end of the document. If you are concerned that you may have COVID-19 or have symptoms, it is important to isolate yourself to protect others. If you are waiting for a COVID-19 test and your symptoms worsen, you should go to the hospital, call 811 or 911 before coming in, if possible, and indicate that you are a person under investigation for COVID-19.
